Extend wako with Add-ons
Add-ons are third-party extensions that enhance wako's functionality. They can provide additional catalogs, subtitles, metadata, and other features.
What are add-ons?
Add-ons are extensions that enhance wako's core features. They work similarly to browser extensions — they add new capabilities without changing the app itself. wako provides the platform and interface, while add-ons extend it with additional functionality.
How to install add-ons
- Open wako on your device
- Go to Settings > Extensions
- Select "Install an add-on"
- Enter the URL of the add-on you want to install
Add-ons are managed entirely within the app. You can enable, disable, or remove them at any time from the Settings menu.
Official Add-ons
Add-ons developed and maintained by the wako team are listed directly in the app under Settings > Extensions.
Community Add-ons
Third-party add-ons created by the community can be installed using their installation URL. Browse community add-ons on our GitHub.

wako add-ons are simple HTTP services that return JSON. Anyone can build one — there is no SDK to install and no framework to learn. Read the protocol reference to ship your first add-on in an afternoon.

wako ships with no add-ons or content sources installed, and does not host, provide, index, or recommend any content or content source. Add-ons are third-party components, developed and operated by third parties — not by wako — and wako functions only as a client for the add-ons you choose to install. Because add-ons are built by third parties, wako cannot provide support for them. You are responsible for ensuring that your use of any add-on or service you connect complies with applicable laws and with its terms of service.
